Message From The Dean

The Office of the Graduate School is dedicated to providing outstanding service to graduate students, both prospective and current, and graduate faculty. Mississippi State University is proud of its approximately 3,400 graduate students who currently are enrolled in and pursue an array of over 135 doctoral, master's, specialist, and bachelor's/master's degree programs. Mississippi State University is located within a beautiful small southern town setting and provides exceptional educational and training opportunities for graduate students to become highly successful in their chosen careers.

Outstanding research is conducted by nationally and internationally known faculty, and research partnerships with a variety of companies have dramatically increased over the last few years. From fiscal year 2007, Mississippi State University had research expenditures of $206.2 million that ranked 58th nationally among the top 150 public universities.

Mississippi State University is dedicated to promoting and enhancing the graduate student experience through a variety of programs and opportunities that address financial support, intellectual enrichment, acquisition of new skills, information exchange, and promotion of participation in professional activities. Graduate students have consistently received awards and recognition for their outstanding scholarly contributions in both the humanities and the sciences.
