MSU Graduate Student Recognized: Ademola Oladunjoye 2011 StudyMississippi International Student of the Year
Dr. Benjy Mikel, Executive Director of MSU International Institute, hosted an award reception honoring Mr. Ademola Oladunjoye, a Mississippi State University graduate student and recipient of the first state-wide 2011 StudyMississippi International Student of the Year award. Mr. Oladunjoye was joined by faculty, fellow students, and graduate staff to celebrate this momentous occasion.
The StudyMississippi International Student of the Year award is a state-wide award introduced by the StudyMississippi Consortium to recognize and appreciate two outstanding international students (Undergraduate and Graduate) for their individual achievements and contributions to the state of Mississippi, impact on peers, the broader campus and the local community. During the award ceremony, Mr. Oladunjoye was presented an Apple iPad2 by Dr. Lokesh Shivakumaraiah, President, StudyMississippi Consortium and Interim Manager of International Education, MSU International Institute. Mr. Oladunjoye, a native of Nigeria, is pursuing a Master of Science in Food Science Microbiology at Mississippi State University. He came to MSU four years ago as a joint degree student majoring in Poultry Science from the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Nigeria. During his time at Mississippi State University, he has been active in the African Student Association, the International Affairs Committee, the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, the Conversation Program, the Montgomery Leadership Programs and the Starkville Multi-Culture Lions Club.
