The Graduate School and The Graduate student Association designate a week in the Fall and Spring semester to celebrate MSU’s graduate students and offer development opportunities designed for graduate students.
Past events include professional development workshops, fitness classes, mental health workshops, virtual trivia night, free professional headshots, free food events and social events to meet fellow graduate students.
Graduate Student Welcome Week
The Graduate Student Association and the Graduate School host the Graduate Student Welcome Week each fall to welcome students back to campus for the new academic year. Throughout the week, students are encouraged to engage in a host of events. All activities are focused on connecting graduate students to MSU in a way that helps them to identify and access the many resources provided to create a healthy and exciting atmosphere where they can successfully reach their academic goals.
The GSA and Graduate School has partnered with Bully's Closet and Pantry. Throughout the week donations can be dropped off at the Graduate School on the 6th floor of Allen Hall from September 13th-17th. The flyer posted below includes additional information and a donation list of items.
Graduate Student Appreciation Week
The Graduate Student Association and the Graduate School host the Graduate Student Appreciation Week each spring to celebrate graduate student achievement from the past academic year. Much like Welcome Week, throughout the week, students are encouraged to engage in a host of great events. However, the Graduate Student Association also seeks nominations for Graduate Assistants of the Year and Faculty of the Year. These nominees, among other outstanding students are recognized at the Graduate Awards Banquet held during Graduate Student Appreciation Week.
