Are you a graduate student looking for guidance or eager to share your experience? The Graduate School invites you to participate in the Grad Guide program!
This program invites master's and doctoral students to serve as mentors and mentees for a one semester long commitment.
The sign-up for the Fall semester will close on August 28th and matches will be announced September 4th.
What to Expect:
- Attend a Grad Guide Orientation to get an overview of the program.
- Commitment is one semester with peer 5 meetings.
- You will be given a guide book with 5 modules to help guide discussions on common graduate school related topics, including setting goals and expectations, health and wellness, and professional development in graduate school.
- You will be invited to attend a mid semester social and a closing social.
- After attending 4 out of the 5 meeting with your peer mentor/mentee, you will receive a certificate of program completion.
Mentors:
- Eligibility: 2nd year Master's students (18 coursework hours completed or more), and at least 3rd year PhD students (36 coursework hours completed or more).
- Role: Assist peers by offering guidance for navigating graduate school.
Mentees:
- Eligibility: 1st-year Masters students or 1st and 2nd-year PhD students.
- Role: Seek help from a peer to guide you through your graduate school journey.
